Overview of Thailand Film Incentive Program​

The Thailand Film Office (TFO) offers cash rebates and incentives to encourage international film productions in Thailand.

Primary Incentive for Thailand Film Incentive Program​

15% cash rebate on local spending over 50 million baht (approx. $1.3 million USD) on Thai crew, vendors and facilities.

Additional Incentives for Thailand Film Incentive Program​

  • Promotes Thai culture/tourism: +5%
  • Thai nationals in key roles: +3%
  • 50% shoot in designated locations: +3%
  • Post-production in Thailand >15% budget: +2%
  • Budget >150M baht from Jan 2024: +5%

Caps on Rebates - Thailand Film Incentive Program​

    • Production Spend:
      • 50M – 150M baht: Maximum 15% rebate
      • Over 150M baht: Maximum 20% rebate
    • Post-Production Spend: Maximum 10% rebate

Total Maximum Rebate per Project:
150 million baht (approx. $4.2 million USD)

Application Process

Productions must obtain permission from the Film, Video and Digital Media Committee. Rebates are provided upon submission of specified application forms to the Thailand Film Office (TFO).
The expenses must be paid to Thai national, a Thai company or Foreigner who work in thai for more than 3 consecutive years and pay all taxes according to Thailand laws.
